最初は上映スケジュールを見るだけでドキドキしていたものの
やっぱりそれだけじゃ満足できずに遂に見に行ったのが「ぼくらとあそぼう！」（ブチェチスラフ・ポヤル作）。
たしか「2.5次元の映像」という触れ込みだった。
新感覚で可愛くて、1965年作でも全然色あせない魅力があって、一回でチェコアニメの魅力に取りつかれました。
そこからヤン・シュヴァンクマイエル、イジー・トルンカ、カレル・ゼマンら巨匠から
アウレル・クリムトを始め、新世代特集まで大学時代も通っていました。
+ ドイツ圧政下でチェコ語を使えない中、伝統芸能の人形劇でのみチェコ語を使えた。
その中で支配者を皮肉るブラックユーモアで民衆を慰めていた、という
チェコ人形劇・アニメの歴史があるとのこと。
その背景を持つ1960年代のアニメを100％は理解していないのは承知の上でも、
あやしいチェコ語の響きや、新世代になっても画面に滲み出てしまう「天然の闇」のような
雰囲気に惹かれてずっと行きたかった。
+ 2003年に出た雑誌titleのプラハ特集号を握りしめて探索したプラハの街は、
暗くて重い歴史を記憶する、強烈な切なさと静かな美しさを持った場所でした。

+ The top image was from the photo I took during my first trip to Prague in 2005.
When I was 17, I first saw the Czech film in a small alternative film theatre in Kyoto.
I instantly fell in love with the Czech film; two bears playing around,
they were so cute and the motion was so new and fresh to me,
even though the film was made in 1965.
+ In addition to the great masters such as Jiri Trnka, Jan Svankmajer, Bretislav Pojar, Karel Zeman,
when they played new generations such as Aurel Klimt, I went to see them too.
+ The heavy and dark background of the country seemed to add the bizarre attraction to all the Czech films.
So it had been my dream to visit the Czech Republic since 2001.
+ When I finally made it, the city of Prague appealed to me with extreme sentiment in the air,
tranquil beauty, both probably from the memory of dark and heavy history.
